As many of you have seen from driving by, the first Trailwood Springs sign, at the intersection of Lineberry Drive and Paul’s Penny Lane, has been damaged. Again! Just a little before 2:00 am on March 11th, a driver from the University Village (formerly Melrose Club apartments) parking lot collided with four vehicles in their attempt to pull out of the parking lot. Being chased by witnesses, the driver then proceeded to flee the scene and upon pulling out of the apartment complex, according to a witness, struck the brick column and sign at the Paul’s Penny Lane entrance into Trailwood Springs. With the vehicle being disabled, the driver fled the scene on foot and was later apprehended by the Raleigh Police Department (RPD) with a reverse phone look-up on the registration which was left in the car. There is still time to get in on the City of Raleigh's WaterSense Toilet Replacement Rebate Program. The purpose of this program is to provide incentives to purchase high efficiency toiets (HETs) to help cut down on the amount of water used with every flush. The program provides rebates up to $100 for each toilet purchased. If you purchase a toilet for $90 then you will get a check for $90. The program runs through April 9, 2010 so hurry!
